A Journey through South East London

Living in the heart of South East London, I wanted to document one of my favourite ways to spend a Saturday.

Each day starts waking up to the sounds of the dock, I never tire of living near the water and love the old industrial details that reflect the history of the area

From the docks, I head down to Southwark Park, one of London’s lesser known but more interesting parks.

After exiting the park, I reach the Bermondsey Arches, which used to be called the Brewers’ Mile, but now is known for so much more. This is where I like to pick up groceries, especially if I am hosting dinner for friends, as there are so many amazing sellers offering the best quality produce.

First up, is Monmounth for some of London’s best coffee. Then onto the Kernel Brewery to pick up something from their selection of local beer. It has a wonderful tap room for a stop later in the day.

Further down the arches, I pick up artisan bread and any pastry treats that catch my eye at the Little Bread Peddlar, followed by the freshest fruit and veg from Pentorelle & Co.

Tired out and in need of a pit stop, I head to Maltby Street Market for some lunch. There are so many great food and drink spots here and I love to take a seat on the street for a bit of people watching while I eat.

Before we continue on our way I always have to stop into Provision Store to shop candles, soaps and other amazing products from local brands.

After lunch, I walk down the road to Bermondsey Corner, my favourite store to get wine. They always have such an interesting selection from the very best suppliers around the world.

Whilst I’m in Bermondsey, I can never resist a visit to one of my favourite galleries, the White Cube. I recently saw the Harland Miller exhibition, Imminent End, Rescheduled Eternally, which I’d highly recommend if you’re a fan of graphics and typography.
