Bespoke Project 01: A one of a kind spacesuit for MIT researcher

Last year I collaborated with MIT designer and researcher @maggiecoblentz creating a spacesuit made entirely from recycled materials. Maggie’s work with MIT media lab @mitmedialab was about ancient bread recipes and testing how the dough would rise in zero gravity.
The spacesuit needed to not only be suitable for movement in zero gravity but also functional with apron and tools needed for kneading dough - while floating.
It was important that all materials were recycled and we were able to use a wonderful bright orange twill made from recycled plastic bottles. The navy contrast lining was organic cotton, leftover from our Collection 01 and it was finished off with recycled brass finishing.

Maggie’s work was then on display in the @m9museum in Venice and will soon be on display at MIT this spring.
